Ronin went downhill compared to what it used to be. We used to be regulars. They had great food, great servers. There always was a wait time. There’s no wait time anymore even on busiest nights - Friday and Saturday - it says it all. Prices went up - quality of sushi went down. Used to have lots of fish - now it’s only a paper thin slice of fish and mostly rice and other ingredients. The worst part is the smell. They are either burnt scented candles or using air fresheners. This is not a spa salon - even in salons such strong scents are not used. People have allergies. Scents are carcinogenic. It’s unacceptable for a restaurant to burn candles. You come to smell food. It’s hard to enjoy a dinner when you are chocking in a strong scents. We reported this issue many times. They are not addressing it because they are trying to cover something up. It’s an old building- we suspect they may be covering up mold smell. As I said, no wait time on Fridays and Saturdays says it all. They lost all of their regulars including us. So happy Ronin is open in my hometown New Smyrna Beach! Lived in Hawaii for many years and I am a sushi snob! Now Ronin is right down the road! Got my membership already for discounts and specials.

Ronin Sushi & Bar was a nice spot that we found based on previous reviews. The food was great, service was average, our waitress gave good recommendations to do while in town which was appreciated. Atmosphere was pleasant nothing too over the top, plenty of seating. The Ronin appetizer was VERY large, well worth the price if you have it with a family or friends. Sushi was fresh and made with quality ingredients. Would go back :)

My wife and I on whim decided to stop in and try a sushi roll since we had been wanting to check out Ronin for sometime. The one sushi roll lead to four and a variety of sake being that it was lady’s night on sake. The sushi was absolutely fabulous, and we had the best time with our server, Jordan, and interacting with the sushi chefs since we ate at the sushi bar.

Five stars aren’t enough for Ronin’s Sushi & Bar in Daytona. Hands down, this was the best sushi we’ve had in northeast Florida—and we’ve tried quite a few spots. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the Ultimate Roll and the Ronin Roll, both of which delivered that perfect balance of flavor, texture, and creativity you hope for when eating high-end sushi. But the real showstopper? The Kobe sliders. I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. They were juicy, flavorful, and honestly ruined me for other burgers or sliders—they’ve set a new standard. They also came with tempura-style sweet potato fries that were out of this world—crispy on the outside, perfectly soft inside, and totally addictive. On top of the amazing food, the service was just as impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Since it was our first visit, they even surprised us with sake samples, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience feel even more special. We’re already planning our next trip back. It’s the kind of place you want to tell everyone about and take out-of-town guests to. Ronin’s is an absolute gem in Daytona.
